Action Steps

In AWeber:
  1. Go to: List Settings > Web Form

  2. Select Create Web Form

  3. Under "1: Form Details"

    1. Fill-in your form name, e.g., "Sign-up box Test"

    2. Type: "In-line" (unless you want a different kind of box, like a Lightbox, which fades over the entire web page).

    3. Start on Message: If you have autoresponder messages, then you would want to start on "1 autoresponse".

      1. Note: For instance our free e-Course starts with Lesson #1.

    4. Click "Next" (or click the "2: Design Form" tab)

  4. Under "2: Design Form"

    1. Click in the "If you want to add a headline" area, then add:

      1. What you're offering for Free (See Listbuilding: "How to Build an Opt-In Page")

        1. E.g., an e-Book, White Paper, list of top ten (or more) tips, checklists, etc.

        2. The name of your eNewsletter.

    2. Leave the Name and Email fields as they are

    3. Click in the "If you want to add a footer: area, then add:

      1. A comment about your stance on Privacy* and sharing emails, e.g.,

        1. "Your email address is never shared with anyone."

      2. A link to your Privacy Policy on your web site.

        1. E.g., "View our Privacy Policy.

    4. Click "Submit".

      1. Rather than using "Submit", we suggest using a phrase which tells the person opting-in what they'll be getting (WIIFM - What's In It For Me) like: "Send my Free ____" (e.g., eBook).

  5. Click Save

* Note: Please see the Listbuilding article: "How to Build an Opt-In Page" for more on Privacy Policies. Of course you'll want to have your own Privacy Policy which is customized for your website/business. You will probably want your intellectual property attorney look this over (or write one) for you.
