least skim it quickly in addition to viewing the Video below.

- Have some "content" to tweet about:
Something which has: 1) value or is
2) interesting.
- Log onto Twitter.com.
- Click in the box at the top of your twitter home page which
had the "140" next to it (for 140 character limit of twitter message).
- Go to Twitter: Goodtweet (Twitter material).
- Find an interesting item like a blog post about "A Bucket
of Owls" and click on the link and see if you like the post or
photo.
- Click on the URL (web address*) for the web page and Copy
(Ctrl + C) and Paste (Ctrl + V) the link into the
white text box in Twitter.
- If the link is too long (has too many characters) you can
shorten it first by using SnipURL, TinyURL,
Bit.ly*, Is.gd,
etc.
- Then copy the link into the white box in Twitter.
- Phrase your message by saying something of interest (or
value), give credit for it (if it's not original/yours) and give a link
to it (if there is one), e.g.,:
- Also, if you know who writes the blog, you can credit them
in your post too, especially if their name might be
interesting/intriguing to others and/or others may be following or
searching for them on Twitter, or if you want them to see/notice your
tweet (since they probably monitor Twitter and the web for their name,
as you should - more on this in another article).
- Click "Update" on your Twitter home page to Send/Post your
tweet.
For more examples of "interesting" tweets go to Guy Kawasaki's twitter
page: http://twitter.com/guykawasaki.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to
post "valuable" tweets also: Tweets that others might find
valuable/helpful.
Tip: Actually I
try to mainly post valuable tweets, rather than just interesting ones.
Or better
yet, to post valuable tweets that sound interesting (to "kill two birds
with one stone").
VERY IMPORTANT:
Try
to post tweets that you think your audience (your followers) might find
interesting/valuable. Otherwise they might UNfollow you and your number
of followers will decrease, rather than increase.
Advanced Action
Steps for Twitter (More on these in future Articles):
- Consider using Twhirl and/or TweetDeck
applications/programs to manage Twitter and the multitude
of tweets you'll be receiving (yikes!).
- Consider sending private Direct Messages (personal
messages only to that person) , public "@username" messages (to the
person and all of their followers
- Consider using Retweets.
