 - Note: Since there may be more info of interest/use on the page below, you should at least skim it quickly in addition to viewing the Video below.

This is basically an "action" article, so just go to the Action Steps or Video below to set-up your Facebook page.

Action Steps

  • Go to the Facebook Page Set-up page:

  • Choose the Type/Category for your Facebook page.

  • Use the dropdown menus to find the category closest to your type of business.

  • Enter the name for your Facebook page.

  • Then you'll be prompted to Login to Facebook or create a Facebook account.

  • Upload a photo for your Facebook page, e.g. your business logo.

  • Settings: Choose the age limits for viewing your page & choose Published/publicly viewable.

  • Wall Settings: Set up your Fan Permissions.

    • Strategy: You want to be able to interact and engage with people, so allow people to post and write on your wall.

  • Information: Add your Website, Company Overview, Mission, and Products.

    • Note: There were technical difficulties and this step couldn't be shown in the Video, but this is a very important step! See screenshot below:

    •

  • Links: Either allow or disallow fans to post links. I would suggest allowing this initially.

  • Wall: Add wall.

    • Note: This is a very important step (even though it could not be shown in the video), so the Wall for your Facebook page will be added/created and it can be viewed/written-on by fans of your business/org.

  • Admins: In the right column, Add Administrators (as applicable for your business - it's always a good idea to at least have one other person who can function as an administrator).

  • Get a Badge: In the bottom of the right column: Get a badge so you can encourage people to subscribe to your Facebook page on your website and/or blog by clicking on your Badge.

  • Ads: You can also create Facebook Ads (Pay per click).

  • Add Friends: You can request about 20 friends at a time, however they may decide not to befriend your business.

  • Add Applications: You can add Facebook Apps, but do so sparingly as some people find many apps objectionable.
