By using PowerPoint slideshows (or just documents) you can leverage the power of the Internet so you ("brand you") and your website/business will be found.

Action Steps


  1. Go to Slideshare.net.


  2. Click Signup.


  3. Enter your:


    1. Username.


    1. Email Address.


    1. Password.


  4. Once in your Slideshare account:


  5. Click the Upload tab.


  6. Click Browse and select files.


  7. Navigate and choose the file you want to upload.


  8. Upload the file.


  9. Add tags.


    1. Think about what people may be searching for that your presentation is a solution for and use those terms.


  10. Select a Creative Commons License if you wish.




After uploading your Presentation: Tell the World!


  • Tweet about your Presentation in Twitter.


  • If your Twitter account is linked to Facebook, then your friends will know about it too.


  • Facebook: You can link your Facebook and Slideshare accounts.


    • Go to Facebook, click on Applications (lower left of screen) and search for Slideshare.


  • LinkedIn: You can link your LinkedIn and Slideshare accounts.


    • Go to LinkedIn, click on Applications (left column), scroll down to Slideshare.


    • While you're there, you can add Google Presentation as well.




Rinse and Repeat: On Slideshare...and other Presentation Sharing Apps


Share more of your presentations on Slideshare.net and other presentation sharing applications, e.g:

  • Choose Interesting topics that people will want to search for and find presentations on, e.g., Social Media.


  • Topical things which people are buzzing about consistently are possible ideas. These consistently sought-after topics should have lasting/staying power for a presentation which should drive it to having more views (and exposure for you and your website/business).


  • Choose great headlines for your presentations.


  • Note: You can use Google AdWords Keyword Tool to help with this.




Power Tip for Great/Successful Slideshare Presentations


Within your presentation, if you have a choice between a graphic image and actual text that you can insert, use the text.
Reason: This text will be shown below your presentation as a Presentation Transcript and these will all become indexable/searchable keywords for your presentation, greatly boosting its chances of being found.
