Here's a tip that I feel is so important I plan to revisit it from time to time: Make sure your webpages are scannable.
 
What does scannable mean? It means headings, subheadings, bullet points, short paragraphs, short sentences and easy to read fonts.
 
No matter how well you compose your text, it's unlikely that anyone will read it in its entirety.
 
People scan webpages. They're looking for the information that's important to them. If they can't find what they want right away, they're off to someone else's website.
