Tip of the Week
Information overload, ever hear of it? Ever experience it? I know you have, we all have. So much stuff was coming into my inbox for my personal account, I couldn't possibly read and absorb it all. Even with the great job Google does of separating out the spam, it was still too much.
So I did 2 things:
- I unsubscribed myself from all but the 1 or 2 resources I trusted and respected the most in each of the categories that were of the most importance to me. There are so many companies and individuals trying to sell you their methodology, steps and secrets you can't possibly put all of their ideas into use. So pick one source to follow at a time. Learn their methodology, put it to work. When you feel that you've absorbed everything you can, then move on to the next resource
- I printed out all of the material I had downloaded from each of those resources. I realized that I would benefit much more by studying the information than just scanning through it on my computer.With the material in hand, I could take a pen and circle or underline things. I could write down my own ideas and make notes. I could take it with me and read it at any time I found convenient without having to be in front of my computer
When I took those 2 steps, I found a lot of pressure being lifted from me. I also found that by printing out the information so I could really study it, I learned more and more quickly.
On our website, you'll notice that near the top of each article, just below our names, is an image of a printer with the words "Printer-Friendly Format" next to it. Click on it. Print it out. Study it.
